Are tags new in 0.9? I don't find them in 0.8.
Space context, time context, tags, etc. It all seems kind of redundant. Being able to define multiple tags to a task should be enough, shouldn't it? This complex XXX context/tags stuff seems quite confusing.
Or are there use scenarious which might make their usage more clear?

For example for space contexts: multiple contexts should be supported. For example, it might be a task requires a "telephone" and a "computer" at the same time.

The login feature is very nice, even having to log in with password from "outside" and not needing to do this when on local lan :-)
To have multiple users be able to use gtd-php, I think it would be needed to have a unique database prefix for all the different users. Are there tutorials how to do this?
Perhaps the SecureGTDphp should be extended.

I think that's like Mr. Allen describes reference in the book.
Work on this may someday be handy. Like for example address book entries might be useful to use as reference. Like sb may have an LDAP standard address book using with his softphones and gtd-php might one day be able to point to such an entry?

Hi all!
On freenode.net #gtdphp there is nobody there. Is there anybody interested in joining a chat?
And what about VOIP? Anybody interested in voice conferencing about gtd and gtd-php?
Greetings,
chip53
EDIT: Whatsoever, I'll be hanging out on the IRC channel and I will have my phone ready to talk.

gtd-php / gtd-php users / Everything is reference and Done projects should be archived
|

Hi! I am new to gtd-php and selected it from a broad list of personal management software pieces.
I have installed my personal gtd-php on my home computer.
A main feature I would want to have is being able to take notes and plan stuff while at the same time having the ultimate reference of what has already happened and have it archived once a project is considered DONE. An example would be the project "buying new computer": Sitting at home I think of having a nice new fast computer. I decide to order one by phone the next day, as it is late already. Thus I create a project with task "order new computer by phone". As I have to do things from work and don't really have the time to do so, I already gather good offerings on the web that evening and store them in "task description". The next day I have everything available in gtd-php: the web site address, the phone number, the article number for ordering, all from the gtd-php task description.
I order the computer and put some waiting on in gtd-php. computer arrives, task is done, project is DONE. At this point I would want to be able to archive the project, as xml or csv or txt in some predefined place in $HOME. There should be a path associated with the project in the php interface.
There may be many steps aka "tasks" in which data would be stored. Phone numbers, website addresses, what I told ppl and what ppl told me on the phone, whatever. Whenever creating a NEW TASK, I would want to have this information available.
Is there a way to view all older tasks perhaps EVEN from more than only one projects along with their creation date, task description, etc. while EDITING a different task?
Thinking of this I get the idea that one could simply open a second web browser window and display existing projects. At home with a sane window manager this is no problem, but on windows machines it's quite inconvenient. The projects view should be able to let users edit single tasks while still viewing everything.
I would propose - on the task editing page - to have a "view other tasks" frame in which one could select filters to specify which tasks to actually view. Perhaps opening a further web browser window and viewing tasks would do the trick, too, but it might be inconvenient.
Furthermore there should be a way to view all tasks of a project along with all descriptions, etc. That's very important for printing.
